Our Senior Fitness program is a unique program designed to promote fitness and well-being among seniors. It will increase their longevity and boost their quality of life. The seniors have fun and move through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activities for daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and palates balls are offered for resistance, and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.
For seniors, decreases in physical activity as we age can be the primary culprit of increased health conditions such as arthritis or neuromuscular conditions. It can also result of a diagnosis of other chronic health conditions and low energy levels. The key is not to stop exercising when chronic health conditions arise, but to use exercise to help manage the symptoms of such conditions. When exercise is added it can have a major impact on the life of a senior.
Mental Wellness Program
Everybody needs exercise! The Wise Decision offers daily fitness & wellness program to individuals diagnosed with a mental illnesses and/or developmental disability. It is our hope that we will not allow more years to pass without seeing an improvement in fitness among the millions of persons living with a mental illness and/or developmental disability. Most individuals living with mental illnesses and/or developmental disabilities get very little physical activity and carry high amounts of body fat. These traits do not develop from their condition, but rather from their lifestyle.
Exercise is a key factor in maintaining and improving overall health, and there are significant health benefits that can be obtained with a moderate amount of daily physical activity. These benefits are even more important if you have a disability, since people with disabilities have a tendency to live less active lifestyles.
Our Special Needs Fitness & Wellness programs provides low to medium impact exercise sessions to help support improved health, increased confidence, and develop better moods and mental health. Participants in the program can expect to see improvements in a number of health areas including; hypertension, high cholesterol, diabetes, blood clots, heart risks, etc.
Youth Fitness Programs
Engage your children or school in a youth fitness program with The Wise Decision. Our goals for the youth fitness programs are to encourage an active healthy lifestyle, enhance each young person’s physical development, and their self-confidence. Our youth fitness programs combine education on nutrition and exercise in a fun interactive way that keeps the students excited while learning. The programs have a balanced focus on proper nutrition and fitness. The students will engage in team and individual games that will educate them on how to make the wise decision on the foods that they choose to eat. They also get active with traditional calisthenics and body weight exercises that involve fitness games, relay races, and obstacle courses. Our Youth Fitness Program is a fun efficient way for students to get active and work their mind and body in a short amount of time.
